Assassination of al-Qaeda leader didn’t receive much ‘popular recognition’

Data for Progress Senior Adviser Aidan Smith says the assassination of al-Qaeda leader Ayman al-Zawahiri didn’t receive much “popular recognition”.

He said he thinks people who weren’t “totally in tune” with politics didn’t hear about the al-Qaeda leader’s death.

“20 years out from the war on terror’s begin – it does show the US is still very vigilant about combating terrorist forces,” he told Sky News Australia.
