Assault of women and children according to latest crime stats: Dibeela Mothupi

Assault is reaching alarming levels in South Africa, as more people resort to aggression and violence countrywide. Over 85 000 cases of assault were reported between July and September this year. More than 13 000 assault victims were women and over 1 800 were children. Police Minister, Bheki Cele released figures for crimes committed from the 1st of July to the 30th of September this year.
