Boipelo : The missing girl found!
Maokeng, Kroonstad. On the 1st September 2020, a young girl nine (9) of age was reported missing. And though her clothing could not be clearly described on her disappearance day. This did not despair the community that came together to find her.
Communities leader like Ntate Morena Thebe, stood tall to lead the community in search all around the township and surrounding farms and plots.
Leader and founder an Admin of facebook group, Bana ba Mozolo. Group played a huge role bringing community together.
But their search yielded nothing, police were also busy with investigations looking for suspects who could have kidnapped the little girl.
The whole Free State province including the office of the premier felt pain that people of Moqhaka as whole felt, the vulnerability of missing child situation presented to the family of the child.
However on the 12th September, the child was found in Gelukwaarts in Kroonstad.
Police spokesperson Brig Motantsi Makhele said the little girl from Gelukwaarts was reported missing on September 1.
On Saturday, children who were playing in the street noticed a “bad smell” coming from a shack near Mesi’s home and alerted community members.
“They went to the shack and found it locked, forced entry and opened the wardrobe where the smell was coming from and found the body of Boipelo and then alerted the police.
“While busy at the scene it is alleged that the owner of the shack appeared and was attacked by the community,” he said.
Makhele said police who tried to intervene were also attacked.
Police managed to rescue the man from the “volatile situation”, but he was later declared dead.
“We appeal to the community to be calm and give the family time to mourn the loss of their daughter,” provincial commissioner Lt-Gen Baile Motswenyane said.
