KZN Floods | eThekwini Municipality says it's ramping up efforts to resettle displaced flood victims

The eThekwini Municipality says it’s ramping up efforts to resettle displaced flood victims, still seeking refuge in more than a hundred centres in Durban. The government has made slow progress in resettling the more than eight thousand people who’ve been left homeless, mainly due to the unavailability of suitable land for the construction of temporary housing units.

As an interim measure, the municipality is to place the destitute in council-owned properties or in privately-owned buildings which the city will rent for 12 months.
