President Ramaphosa to deliver keynote address at National Women'S Day commemorative event

President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to deliver the National Women’s Day address at Richmond in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands today. The 9th of August was declared National Women’s Day in South Africa in 1994 to commemorate womens’ struggle against oppression. It was on this day in 1956 that 20-thousand women marched to the Union Buildings, to protest against pass laws.
