SA corporates making steady progress in including women in strategic positions of power

South African corporates are making steady progress in including women in strategic positions of power. Almost one-third of non-executive board directors at companies listed at the JSE are currently female.

This is according to the 2021 research carried out by the company Business Engage: titled the Status of Gender on JSE Listed Boards. The company has in the past 5 years been studying the opportunities for gender balancing the boards of companies listed on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange in efforts to close the gender gap.
