SADC Summit | Guy Martin weighs in on Ramaphosa flight

A front page splash in the Sunday Times newspaper yesterday. The story, the president had to commission an SAA jet to attend a summit in Kinshasa in the DRC this past week, because the airforce’s VIP fleet is effectively grounded for failing to pay permission subscriptions. It estimated the flight would have cost R2,6 million. The defence department hit back immediately calling the article misleading. The acknowledge the presidential jet Inkwazi is out of commission. But say they obtained quotes for charters, the lowest of which was R1.6 million. Not the reported R2.6 million. eNCA speaks to Defence Web editor, Guy Martin. #DStv403
