Sydney train commuters to receive free travel next week

Sydney train users will receive free travel next week in a bid by the New South Wales government to stop planned industrial action.

The NSW Rail, Tram and Bus Union warned it would run weekday trains to a weekend timetable if the government did not meet demands over foreign-built trains.

Premier Dominic Perrottet is hoping the matter can be resolved in a mediation session with the RBTU on Tuesday.
